Today we’re taking a stab at answering a question. We see a lot of recording engineers talking about how much the position of a guitar cabinet in a room (and which room it’s in) can affect the sound, even when the microphones are up close. So does it?

We’re re-amping heavy and clean parts of a track through a 120W amp, through a Celestion Vintage 30 and an SM57.

We tried this in our meeting room (big, high ceiling, long RT60) in two places, the tiled bathroom, storage closet, vocal booth, live room and control room.

See what you think!
