If you can’t live without real tube tones as a guitarist, but you want to record silently – a Rack Preamp might be the answer. This ADA MP-1 rack preamp is the exact same thing that Nuno from Extreme used to record a lot of their most famous stuff.
It’s got a “recording out” which includes a “speaker simulator” – not the best, but the best the late 80s had to offer.
Alternatively, you can patch it into your recording interface, and use an Impulse Response loader to get a real speaker sound.
